Bridging a number of methodologies,  Dia Penning use a framework that explores both internal and external oppression, allowing participants to examine dominant paradigms by looking at oppression as something that plays out individually and internally, as well as externally through interpersonal relationships, policy, and interrelated structures in society. This is done through contemplation of media, historical analysis, conversation, evaluation, and reflection.  She then supports participants in exploring different ways of being, through intentional questioning, creative visioning, and body-based practices. Dia believes yoga is a tool for social change, and integrates it into all the work she does, encouraging a deep exploration structural inequity through personal transformation and paradigm shift.

She has designed curriculum for all ages, and uses a number of modalities to get at the heart of assumptions and habitual behavior. In government, non profit, health and education, she integrates creative thinking, analysis, social justice, and mindfulness practices to explore equity, strong community, and effective communication.

Dia is an expert facilitator with 15+ years in the field, an open heart and a very sharp wit.
